Uganda chimps, gorillas in Rwanda, and Tanzania wildlife are combined in these 14 Days, you will start with Uganda for Chimps then down to Akagera National Park Rwanda then to Volcanoes for Gorilla Tracking. The trip will also take you to Tanzania, you will explore the vast lands of Tanzania which have a large number of wildlife species and scenic landscapes which is rewarding.

Schedule Details

Day 1: Kampala - Kibale National Park
  • Departure in the early morning from Kampala for an amazing primate safari in Kibale Park and the Bigodi swamp. This is a wonderful drive taking you through the gorgeous countryside to Kibale Forest National Park found in western Uganda. You will observe the chimpanzees in their natural habitat of the Kibale Rainforest. You will drive past local homesteads, tea farms, and banana plantations. Have lunch at your lodging. Bigodi Village plus community tour: Bigodi community walk takes you to the homesteads in the local communities close to the park. On this village walk, you will be escorted by one of the locals who are very knowledgeable about the norms and cultures of the different tribes here. You will have a door-to-door village tour and also visit the churches and the community schools. The walk will familiarize you with the village lifestyle of these African people in this remote area. Head back to your lodging for dinner and the overnight.

Day 2: Full-Day Kibale for Chimpanzee Adventure

Enjoy an African bush breakfast before setting out chimpanzee trekking in the forest. This will be a satisfying day in the middle of Africa as you chimpanzee tracking trip within Kibale forest park. Other than the Chimpanzees and other primates, is rich bird life and butterflies here. Return to your lodging for lunch before going for the afternoon Bigodi Swamp hike. You will begin your guided Adventure in the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary on which walk you will see various birds and animals. This Bigodo swamp walk is very popular just like the Chimpanzee Forestwalksk. We recommend that you wear comfortable walking shoes as this walk will go through some muddy places. If lucky you may spot the shoebill stork as well as the hard-to-see Sitatunga Antelope. You will also come across several primates here and occasionally see the chimpanzees too. Dine and slumber at your lodge.

Day 3: Kibale - Gatuna Border - Akagera National Park

After breakfast, check out and start driving to Katuna Border. Today we will have a short distance drive to Akagera National Park, but don't worry the ride is enjoyable and beautiful as you will have a great time seeing the other part of Uganda while crossing slowly to Rwanda. You will have a stop in Kabale for lunch then proceed up to the Katuna border, after the paperwork, you will travel to Akagera National Park. Arrive at Akagera in the late afternoon, game en route to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Akagera National Park Full Day

Enjoy an early morning breakfast and start your game drives in an open-roofed vehicle. A half-day game drive here offers you an opportunity to spot a variety of game including elephants, buffalos, hippos, lions, Masai giraffes, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchel’s zebra, topi, bush baby, leopard, and bushbuck, etc. Proceed for a boat trip after lunch on Lake Ihema, for a close encounter with the Crocodiles and Hippos along the river banks, coupled with a large concentration of over 525 bird species both migratory and savanna related. Unique species such as Shoe billed stocks and papyrus gonolek can be encountered. Endemics include jacanas, ibis, sandpipers,s, and herons. Return to your lodge for dinner.

Day 5: Akagera - Musanze

After an early breakfast, have a game drive in the National Park. Akagera is home to a variety of games, it’s an exciting reserve and there are plenty of animals around and the birdlife is quite exceptional. Mammals include a healthy population of Elephant and Buffalo, plus 11 species of antelope including Impala, Common Duiker, Defassa Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Oribi, Tsessebe, Cape Eland, and the rare Sable Antelope. Hippos are present in impressive numbers in the lakes and rivers and Zebra and Giraffes still roam the more open acacia-dotted plains. Afternoon, drive to Musanze the main base town for Gorilla tracking. The drive is through beautiful rolling hills on a comfortable paved road enclosed by steep and green terraced hills along eastern Rwanda. The road winds endlessly in a countless number of twists and turns, and the common storm clouds lend a raggedly romantic panorama to this region.

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking Day

After your morning wake-up call and breakfast, report to the park headquarters, for gorilla trekking formalities and briefing by the Volcanoes National Park’s guides on the gorillas’ etiquette. You will be assigned to a specific group of gorillas. Your trek will vary in length depending on which gorilla group you have been assigned to. After locating your assigned Gorilla group you will spend one hour in their company before retracing your steps back down the volcano slopes. Have lunch at the lodge. Afternoon, enjoy the scenic transfer back to Kigali.

Day 7: Kigali - kilimanjaro Airport - Arusha

After breakfast, drive to Kigali Airport for your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport. Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport, meet your guide, and drive to Arusha for lunch, and leisure, and overnight at Four Points by Sheraton, Arusha. NOTE: If you will not be too tired, we can take you on a City Tour in the evening, so that you can get to know Arusha, otherwise you can just relax at the Hotel as the scenery is in a beautiful place.

Day 8: Arusha - Tarangire National Park

In the morning, you will be greeted by your guide and after an approximately 2-hour drive, you will reach the Tarangire National Park. As you enter the park, your guide will open the roof for a better viewing experience. The landscape is made up of seasonal marshes and a seemingly endless tree savannah with its mighty baobab trees. The Park is home to the largest elephant herds in the north of Tanzania. After an extensive game drive, you will drive to Tarangire Tortilis Tented Camp. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Tarangire - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast game en route to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro. Afterward, we visit the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world – Serengeti National Park. The word ‘Serengeti’ means ‘endless plains’, which describes the park’s 5,600 square mile boundary. Yet for its sprawling area, the Serengeti does not disappoint when it comes to rich game viewing. Annually, from May to December, millions of animals embark on a migration that brings them from central Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara and back again in an incredible spectacle. Even during the ‘down-time’, vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle roam here, along with groups of elephant, giraffe, and buffalo. As the lions, leopard, cheetah, hyenas,s, and jackals stalk their meals, we enjoy a picnic lunch in this open arena. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Tortilis Tented Camp.

Day 10-11: Serengeti Full Day

These two days will be the "Serengeti game viewing day". After breakfast this morning, enjoy an amazing game drive. The great diversity of Serengeti wildlife is evident here—look for buffalo, hippopotami, elephant, giraffe, antelope, Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelle, and lions. If you are there during the spectacular wildebeest migration, you will be more than astonished. In the late afternoon, we venture out in another game drive. Everywhere there are animals, monkeys, and, yes, birds…but look closely and you will be thrilled to see the huge jungle cats—lion, leopard, and cheetah—watching the world go by. And go by it does. Rhino, gazelle, antelope, and massive elephants by the hundreds. Animals in the trees, flying, camouflaged in the bush, in rivers, and streams. This is the adventure of a lifetime!

Day 12: Serengeti - Ngorongoro

After breakfast, a game drive in Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch, until noon, where you will have again game drive to see the beauty of this great park. The afternoon after lunch game en route to Ngorongoro Crater for Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Crater. Overnight at Ngorongoro Tortilis Tented Camp.

Day 13: Ngorongoro Crater - Manyara

After early breakfast around 05:50 am, descend the crater at 06 am for a  6-7hrs game drive, with picnic lunch. We venture onto the crater floor for an up-close at the residents of this World Heritage Site and enjoy a picnic lunch here. The Ngorongoro Crater provides great game viewing all year round. The wildlife here makes up a permanent population because grazing and water supplies are plentiful throughout the seasons. Afternoon drives to Burudika Lodge Manyara for Dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Lake Manyara National Park - Depart

Following breakfast, you will have a morning till noon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. There is a profusion of wildlife in this small national park, and the amazing bird-watching experience will certainly be rewarding to both a devoted and first-time bird watcher. It is as well among the few places on the African continent to see the tree-climbing lions that will be your main quest for the day. Manyara in addition prides in a large flock of beautiful pink flamingoes found near the lake. You will have lunch at the picnic site. In the afternoon you will drive back to Arusha, and drop of to Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure flight to your next destination. End of Service! NOTE: If you still have time, you can add the Zanzibar beach holiday on top of this, if so, don't hesitate to discuss this with your consultant.

How big are your groups on a Safari?

Our 4-wheel drive safari vehicles offer comfortable places to five people in the rear and one person in front with the driver. So we can take up to 6 people on a safari. If your group has more people we will schedule additional vehicles.

Can I pay with Credit Card?

Balance payment can be done in either cash USD or credit card (Visa – MasterCard – American Express). With credit card payments, there is a 5 % surcharge. The best is still to bring cash in USD. You’ll get the best exchange rates for 50 and 100 USD notes. Also make sure not to bring USD notes older than 1990, as these are not accepted anymore in Tanzania.

Can we get our visa on arrival?

Yes, for both Tanzania and Kenya, you can get a visa on arrival at the airport or at the Namanga border.

How do I proceed with my reservation and Payment?

Once we agreed on a certain itinerary and the price, you will be asked to make a down payment to our bank account. Your booking will be confirmed upon receipt of this deposit, and we’ll send you a confirmation e-mail. We shall then also proceed to make the necessary reservations. The remaining balance is to be paid in cash upon arrival in Tanzania. If you would prefer not to travel with Cash money, you can also pay the balance in our bank account.
