Day by day
Day 1: Arusha - Lake Manyara/Tarangire National Park
After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara national park for game viewing, the park is a scenic hidden and the contrasting habitats are something to look at, underground water forest, rift valley escarpment, acacia woodland, and the lake, sightings may include baboon, giraffe, buffalo, elephant and the amazing variety of birds, During June to August is the best for Flamingoes and thousands of Pecans feeding on the abundance of fish in the lake and estuary. In the late afternoon proceed to your Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge for Dinner and overnight.
NOTE: The Lodge is wow and amazing, make sure you get time to get there a bit early, at least around 04 pm so that you can get a chance to enjoy this beautiful place as you only have one night there.
Day 2: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast drive to Serengeti with your picnic lunch and within these two days we will explore the intimidating habitats of Serengeti starting from Gol mountain, Seronera valley, the kopjes, and the eastern plains, looking for the big pride of lion which lord the plains, cheetah leopard and other sightings may include, the great migration depending on the time of the year, elephants, giraffe, impalas, and hippo. Dinner and overnight Ole Serai Luxury Camp.
Day 3: Serengeti - Ngorongoro
After breakfast, a game drive in Serengeti National Park with picnic lunch, until noon, where you will have again game drive to see the beauty of this great park. The afternoon after lunch game en route to Ngorongoro Crater for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Crater. Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha
After early breakfast around 05:50 am, descend crater at 06 am for a 6-7hrs game drive, with picnic lunch. We venture onto the crater floor for an up-close at the residents of this World Heritage Site and enjoy a picnic lunch here. The Ngorongoro Crater provides great game viewing all year-round. The wildlife here makes up a permanent population because grazing and water supplies are plentiful throughout the seasons. Afternoon drive back to Arusha, drop off Karama Lodge for Dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Arusha – Mafia
After late breakfast, we will pick you up around 09/10 am and drive to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight to Mafia Island. Arrive at Mafia Island late afternoon, meet our representative and drive to Mafia Island Lodge for Dinner and overnight. Mafia is a small island in the Indian Ocean, belonging to Tanzania. Its history goes back to the 8th century where it played a key role in the East African trading routes between Kilwa and Zanzibar.
Island and the surrounding reefs are known as excellent, world-class dive sites. For now, still only a little-visited, offers naturals areas. Arriving lodge and time for relaxing. Late afternoon we will invite you for Sunset Cruise Head out on one of the traditional wooden dhows to experience the stunning sunset views from the sea. Your crew will raise the sail (wind permitting!) and you will have a chance to sail leisurely around the area, taking in the views, whilst sipping sparkling wine and eating nibbles, and watching the sun go down.
Day 6: Mafia Island Full Day (Swimming with Whale Sharks)
Half-day trip to view (and usually have close-up, relaxed encounters with) wild whale sharks, learn about their biology and ongoing conservation issues and efforts.
During the summer season, the Whale shark can be spotted swimming slowly close to the surface in the channel between Mafia and mainland Dar Es Salaam. Mafia Island Lodge Beach is in a prime location, close to these gentle giants.
Once spotted, you calmly enter the water to snorkel alongside them. They can be shy so guests can look, but not touch. Mafia Island follows the “Code of Conduct” which is a set of guidelines used all over the World. Your guide will make you aware of these guidelines for safely interacting with these amazing creatures.
Day 7: Beach Leisure Full Day
Relax on the beautiful beach with optional activities.
Places around the Mafia are also the only place, wherefrom October to March we guaranteed „meeting” and the opportunity to swim with the Whale shark– the world’s largest fish at up to 20 m long.
Day 8: Departure
Morning time we transfer you to the Airport for your flight to Dar/Zanzibar to connect with your International Flight back home, and this is where your trip with us ends.
