Etosha South

Located just south of the boundary of Etosha National Park in northwestern Namibia, Etosha South makes up the southern region of this wild paradise. Ongava Private Game Reserve shares the southern boundary with Etosha National Park and offers an array of luxury lodges overlooking picturesque landscapes dotted with abundant wildlife. The national park can be accessed via the southern entrance at Andersson’s Gate. Swakopmund

Set along Namibia’s spectacularly scenic coast, the seaside town of Swakopmund is known for its wide-open avenues, colonial architecture, and its surrounding otherworldly desert terrain. Founded in 1892 as the main harbour for German South West Africa, Swakopmund is often described as being more German than Germany. Now a seaside resort town, Swakopmund is the capital of the Skeleton Coast tourism area and has plenty to keep visitors happy. The quirky mix of German and Namibian influences, adventure options, laid-back atmosphere and cool sea breeze make it a very popular Namibian destination. Visitors can look forward to a number of exciting activities, including: quad biking, horse riding, paragliding, fishing, sightseeing and fascinating desert tours.

Visit to Sossusvlei & Sesriem Canyon with your Guide

An early start from the Lodge to enter the Namib-Naukluft Park at sunrise, while the temperature is still mild and when the dune contrasts are at their best. You will travel in one of our all-terrain URI Gameviewer vehicles, custom-built in Namibia for the Lodge, with your own specially trained guide who will share all his knowledge of the area, animals, plant life and much more with you.

Regular stops are made on the spectacular ±60 kilometre drive through the dune corridor down to the Vlei to gain information or take in the vistas. At Dune 45, we make a stop to view the world’s most photographed dune. Further along, a gradual 2,6 kilometers round-trip guided walk up to Dead Vlei is a must for the healthy visitors. The more energetic have the opportunity to climb to the upper ridge of Big Daddy Dune, one of the highest dunes in this area! We spend time exploring Sossusvlei before returning to the Lodge approximately 5½ hours later in time for lunch.

In the afternoon – Experience the remarkable depths of Sesriem Canyon. Our experienced guides will share the history behind this magnificent natural canyon carved by the Tsauchab River.

Following breakfast, transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. There is a profusion of wildlife in this small national park, and the amazing bird-watching experience will certainly be rewarding to both a devotee and a first-time bird watcher.

It is also among the few places on the African continent to see the tree-climbing lions, which will be your main quest for the day. Manyara, in addition, prides itself on a large flock of beautiful pink flamingoes found near the lake. You will have lunch at the picnic site.

After breakfast, game en route to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro. Afterwards, we visit the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world – Serengeti National Park. The word ‘Serengeti’ means ‘endless plains’, which describes the park’s 5,600 square mile boundary. Yet for its sprawling area, the Serengeti does not disappoint when it comes to rich game-viewing. Annually, from May to December, millions of animals embark on a migration which brings them from central Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara and back again in an incredible spectacle. Even during the ‘down-time’, vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle roam here, along with groups of elephant, giraffe, and buffalo. As the lions, leopard, cheetah, hyenas and jackals stalk their meals, we enjoy a picnic lunch in this open arena. Dinner and overnight at Serenge Tortilis Tented Camp

You will spend your full day here unwinding the secrets, and it will be full of surprises in the north. You will see the wildebeest in the Great Mara River crossing migration. It offers great game viewing of big cats and other wild animals like rhino, hippo, rock hyrax, giraffe, and reedbuck. You will relish your stay and dinner at Serengeti Wilderness Camp.

You will enjoy yet another morning game drive in Serengeti. Drive back to the camp for breakfast and check out before starting your journey to Ngorongoro. We arrive at our crater rim lodge to a warm welcome, check in and then lunch. This afternoon, just relax and enjoy the breathtaking and spectacular views of the Ngorongoro scenery, the largest unbroken caldera in the world. After early breakfast around 05:50 am, descend down the crater at 06 am for 6-7hrs game drive, with a picnic lunch. We venture onto the crater floor for an up close look at the residents of this World Heritage Site, and enjoy a picnic lunch here. The Ngorongoro Crater provides great game-viewing all year-round. The wildlife here makes up a permanent population because grazing and water supplies are plentiful throughout the seasons. Afternoon drive back to Arusha for an overnight stay at Karama Lodge.
