The area around Lake Natron is the biggest breeding site of lesser flamingoes in East Africa. The area offers amazing sunrises and sunsets over the rift valley walls. Today, you can spend time recovering from your climb or enjoying some of the activities in the area. These include visiting Lake Natron’s sparkling shores to see the millions of flamingos and visiting the local waterfalls.

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park through Kleins Camp gate. Afterward, we visit the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world: Serengeti National Park. The word ‘Serengeti’ means ‘endless plains’, which describes the park’s 5,600 square mile boundary. Yet, despite its sprawling area, the Serengeti does not disappoint when it comes to rich game viewing. Annually, from May to December, millions of animals embark on a migration that brings them from central Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara and back again in an incredible spectacle. Even during the ‘down-time’, vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle roam here, along with groups of elephant, giraffe, and buffalo. As the lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals stalk their meals, we enjoy a picnic lunch in this open arena. Dinner and overnight at Lobo Campsite.

This entire day is set aside for game drives in the Serengeti. The Serengeti, the habitat of an abundance of wildlife such as impala, buffalo, crocodile, and hippo, is more well-known for its great migrating herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest. The animals’ trek is determined by the rainfall and varies from year to year. In November and December, the animals move from the northern region, dominated by woodlands and hills, to the grassy plains of the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June, they return to the central. Apart from the migrating herds, we may have the opportunity to see the resident predators, leopard, cheetah, and lion, fulfilling their role in the circle of life. After an unforgettable day, we will return to our carefully selected tented camp for relaxation, dinner, and our overnight sleep on The Endless Plain.

After an early breakfast we head out for another game drive upon the Serengeti. We may have the opportunity to spot the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard – before embarking on our journey to the Ngorongoro Crater.
The animals roam freely through the unfenced reserves offering us an uninterrupted game-viewing experience.
Arriving at the edge of the crater we have our first glimpse of what awaits us the following day – glistening streams, open grassland, and a myriad amount of animals.
We spend the evening and night at one of our carefully selected mid-range partner lodges, boasting aesthetically tasteful restaurants and the most commodious of rooms for your rest, ease, and dreams of the African Wild. Overnight at Simba Campsite.

Leave the camp very early in the morning, and through the Ngorongoro Conservation before descending, 610 meters down to the grasslands of the crater floor, an area of about 265 square kilometres. Despite its small size, the Crater is a Big 5 country, and the openness of the terrain means easy and rewarding game viewing. You will spend the day exploring the crater floor, stopping to picnic on the grasslands amidst the grazing herds.
Formed by a massive volcanic eruption, the world’s largest intact and unflooded caldera provides a year-round home to an astonishing 25,000 large mammals, including black rhino, wildebeest, and zebra, along with Africa’s densest concentrations of hyena. The Crater’s forests shelter elephants and buffalo, its wetlands are home to hippos and flamingos, while lions, jackals, leopards, and caracals make up the full range of predators. Afternoon drive to Eyasi for dinner and overnight at Eyasi Campsite.

After breakfast, a true African experience awaits. You will visit the Hadzabe, an ethnic minority and one of Tanzania’s last hunter-gatherer tribes. They have managed to maintain their traditional lifestyle to this day in this dry and mostly barren area. Thereafter, you will pay a visit to the pastoral nomads and herdsmen, known as the Datoga tribe. The experience is completed with a stop at the blacksmiths, where you will witness craftsmen in rather rudimentary working conditions. After this interactive cultural experience, you will drive back to Manyara for dinner and overnight at Nsya Campsite.

Leave the lodge after an early breakfast with a delicious picnic lunch and proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing. The park is home to the famous tree-climbing lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and big troops of baboons. More than 400 species of birds have been recorded here, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 50 of these in one day. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favoured haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and giraffes. After lunch, we leave the park and head to Arusha. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward connection.
